Hello and Welcome to the New Holistic Website.

For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Starcus. I’ve been on the camp/festival scene for nearly 15 years now.

As organiser of New Holistic, I’d like to take the opportunity to introduce myself and tell you a little about my story.

In 1994 I had what can only be described as a Crown Chakra experience.
One night whilst sleeping, I was awoken by a sensation on the top of my head. I put my hand to my head and slowly sat up. It had sound like a stone grinding slowly at first, getting smoother and faster from a hum to a hiss and a buzz to a whiz. The light in the room changed and the walls seemed to become like static electricity.
Though slightly frightened I excepted it was a chakra experience and spoke out load “What’s happening?” As I said this, there was a knock on my bedroom door. Again out load I spoke “Who is it?” Then what I can best describe as a coloured hologram passed through the door. A little old lady with a light brown mohair coat and a navy blue scarf, short and slightly balding.
I again called out “Who are you?” No reply.
She moved across the foot of my bed and raised her arms as if she was sorting through stuff in an invisible cupboard. She then turned and murmured something as if there were others behind her through the closed door in my hallway. She passed the bottom of my bed again, leaving as she came. The light in the room slowly changed back as I heard footsteps of more than one ascend the stairs to the flat above where my landlord resided. A door slammed, then I heard no more.
The next morning I questioned my landlord. He explained how he heard voices as the light in his room changed and he felt pinned to his bed. He heard the door slam to his living room, which as a matter of fact was the only way to get it to catch.
Within two days we discovered that the woman from whom he had bought the house of had died and been cremated that week. Gladys White, may she rest in peace, re-united with her husband.

For me, these were two major realisations in my life.
1. There WAS life after death.
2. I had CHAKRA’S

After these great revelations, I decided to leave my hometown of Aylesbury Bucks and search for like-minded people on the camp scene. I joined Rainbow Circle at their Beltane camp and soon made many friends, finding a special place to explore all things holistic.

I soon found myself cooking for the site crew as no provision was available at the time. The plumber left so with my skills as a Gas Eng, I took this job on too. I soon found myself at their AGM helping to organise the next season’s camps. At this meeting the crew kitchen I had initiated soon become the Rainbow Circle Café.

Over the years, many people taught me crucial skills for running a Holistic camp. I ran the showers and steam bath one season. I looked after the vehicles, finances, been site manager, repaired and purchased equipment, made a big lodge, made toilets, the list goes on.

The biggest thing I did was to co-ordinate an excursion to the BGG in 2000. With 65 tickets to issue and thousands of pounds of food to manage it was truly a Big one for me. We had 40 crew in the kitchen & 25 facilitators doing Astrology and Garden amongst other things. We all worked very hard and the venture was a general success.

For many years now I have been working as site crew in the green fields at Glastonbury festival. Whilst doing this my friend Paul and I have had a tea tent in the crew field, which is known as the 50p tea café.

Over the years I have spent so much time doing all the practical stuff, that I missed many workshops. I realise now that spiritual development starts at the Base Chakra in the physical. Since becoming a parent in the last 5 years, I realise how truly fortunate I am.

For many years now I have been considering running my own camp and now the time seems so right.
I’ve had lots of great feedback from friends and can’t wait for us all to be back at Flaxley where we’ve so many fond memories.

My intent is to create a harmonious space where we can create abundance and transcend to even higher levels.

I am not affiliated with any religion in particular nor do I dismiss any. I consider myself a “Reborn Pagan” and honestly believe in the Chakra’s, as they are physical organs within me.

I am an accomplished musician singer songwriter and lover to the great ship Mother Earth. Since a child I have always gazed upon the wonders of the cosmos, the great ocean of space that our Mother carries us through.
Here in the fields on the edge of the forest of Dean, I promise to create time and space for us all to explore and ponder upon our place in this incredible existence, under a star lit sky.
